Welcome to Exmoor StarGazer's Website.

Who are we?

We are a new group who want to help and encourage everyone to enjoy the beauty of the dark skies above Exmoor.
Looking up at the skies and being able to identify the stars and planets that are there is very special and actually very easy.
We aim to create an Exmoor wide stargazing community of all ages and expertise.
All you need are your eyes and an interest in the skies.

Activities will include:-
  • learning to recognise the major star patterns
  • follow the planets as they move across the skies
  • observe the moon
  • monthly sky tours of the highlights for each month for naked eye, binoculars and telescopes
  • following the main astronomical highlights for the year
  • exploring the best dark sky viewing sites across Exmoor
  • advice on various aspects of sky watching
  • online resources and links
  • meetings across Exmoor
  • We also hope to have an active children's and youth section.
